Welcome to Mrs. Farrell's first grade blog. It is so great to be back! It has been so nice getting to know all the kids. They have been working hard earning tickets. Ask your child what happens when their ticket is pulled from the bucket!

On Monday, report cards will be going home. Conference day is Thursday, December 1st.  If you signed up for a conference during Back to School Night, the conference time will be in the comments section of the report card. If you cannot make your scheduled time, please let me know ASAP. I look forward to meeting with you!

Baby Brent

Hello all my friends from room 109! Hope you are all having a great summer so far. Baby Brent was born on June 30th so we are enjoying our time together. :)

Hip hip, hooray!

No more homework for the rest of the year! Please continue to read 20 minutes each night. Keep your math workbooks at home and do some pages if you'd like.  No need to pass them in.

Chicks

We have so many great things going on to catch you up on! We will start with the chicks. Yesterday, Ms. Pavlicek dropped off 8 eggs. When we came to school this morning, we found that 4 of them hatched! Another one hatched while we were in the cafeteria and ANOTHER one hatched while we were packing up to go home.  Everyone was so excited!

Our Trash, Our Choices

Mr. Musselman and Ms. Pavlicek from the Burlington Science Center came to visit our school today.  After collecting the trash from yesterday's lunch, they showed us how much waste we produce each and every day here at Memorial.  In an effort to reduce our waste, they showed us which items in the trash could actually be recycled.  Check out the Science Center's blog for more information!
